4th of July Style by Five Foot Feminine

4th of July Style & Pie!

This 4th of July look is super easy to put together and won’t break the bank!

I’m wearing something everyone should have in their closet – a white tee and denim. I’ve chosen to wear this overall dress  BUT you absolutely don’t need overalls to make this look work… you can simply just wear your favorite denim and a white top to check off the “Blue & White” in Red White & Blue!

To really make this look come together, I added this Rachel Parcell scarf and tied it as a headband. I’ll be spending some time by the pool on the 4th so this is a good way to keep hair out of my face and will be cute paired with a blue or white swimsuit.

I’m also wearing Rachel Parcell pearl earrings that add the perfect pop of white 🙂 These are currently sold out so I linked another similar pair I own and know are light weight / easy to wear all day long.

Lastly, I topped this look off with my favorite red lip that doesn’t come off and will 100% stay in place. If your plan is to be swimming outdoors or eating bbq, I highly recommend wearing this lipstick! It’s like glue and will not come off on anything! For reference, I’m wearing the color “Ultimate Wine” and it’s the “Revlon Colorstay lipstick” with a gloss on the other end.

Pie: Oh and I almost forgot to mention that I’m finally sharing my strawberry pie recipe that would be perfect for the 4th! I made mine 4 days ago and it’s still good – sometimes deserts like this get mushy and go bad but this pie will last you all the way through the holiday weekend. Just click through to my next story and you can take a screenshot of it!

Strawberry Pie Recipe:

Shortbread Pie Crust:
– 1 1/2 Stick of Butter
– 1 1/2 Cup Flour
– 3 TBSP Powdered Sugar
Mix all ingredients until well blended with pastry blender or fork. Pat into pie plate. Poke holes in unbaked crust 1” apart with a fork to avoid air bubbles. Bake 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Let cool for 1 hour.

Pie Filling:
– 3 Cup Water
– 1 1/2 Cup Sugar
– 4 TBSP Cornstarch
– 6oz Strawberry Jello Package
– Sliced Strawberries
– Cool Whip
Boil water, sugar and cornstarch until clear. Add jello powder. Pour liquid into cool pie crust with sliced strawberries place in it. Refrigerate overnight. Serve with cool ship!
